    Description

    Carolina Boxer Rescue is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Head of Vetting to oversee and manage the vetting team. This volunteer position plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of the boxers in our care.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage the vetting team, ensuring all members are well-equipped to handle medical inquiries and procedures.
    • Approve vetting procedures and ensure all medical decisions align with CBR's best practices and financial resources.
    • Collaborate with the fundraising team to ensure adequate funds are available for medical expenses.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for medical questions from fosters, area coordinators, and vet team members.
    • Work with CBR’s approved veterinarians to coordinate care and treatment plans for rescued boxers.
    • Monitor medical protocols to ensure consistency and quality of care across all foster homes.
    • Stay informed about common breed-specific health issues and provide guidance on best practices.
    • Assist in evaluating medical needs for incoming boxers and making recommendations for treatment plans.

    Qualifications:

    • Veterinary knowledge and experience in veterinary medicine, specifically working in a veterinary office
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively manage the vetting team.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with fosters, volunteers, and veterinary professionals.
    • Financial awareness to help balance medical needs with available funds.
    • Passion for animal rescue, particularly for the Boxer breed.

    This is a remote volunteer position with flexible hours, but availability for urgent medical concerns is required. If you are passionate about rescue work and have the veterinary knowledge to support our mission, we’d love to have you on our team!
