    Description

Good Shepherd is looking for Veterans who want to volunteer to visit our Veteran Patients. Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate, connect, share stories about serving our country and give strength to our veteran patients. Veteran Volunteers help enhance the quality of life for veteran hospice patients during times of reflection and this creates a common bond that means so much to our patients and their families.

Volunteering with Veteran Hospice patients takes as little as two hours a week. Can you spare two hours a week to put a smile on the face of a veteran that is going through a hard time? What a wonderful gift that would be and it is so special to our patients and the patients family.

Please contact, Christa Cook at 405/943-0903 to get started. You can also email her at christa.cook@goodshepherdhospice.com

Good Shepherd will provide the training and resources that you need to be successful. We will do our best to assign a patient that is closest to your preferred location. All Vet to Vet Volunteers must be 18 years or older and must pass our background check.

Good Shepherd Hospice is a Level 4 We Honor Veterans Community Partner. The WE Honor Veterans Program is a part of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Department of Veteran Affairs. It is a program that empowers hospices to take care of the unique needs of dying Veterans.
