    Restore Hope Board Member

    Restore Hope, Inc. is a small nonprofit dedicated to supporting women experiencing homelessness. Though founded in New York, our work is now focused in Washington, DC. Through mentorship, community outreach, and relationship-based support, we walk alongside women as they navigate personal goals, access critical resources, and work toward lasting stability. Our programs include:

    As a Board Member, you’ll play a vital leadership role in helping Restore Hope grow and sustain our impact. You’ll provide governance, support fundraising efforts, and lend your time, talent, and voice to ensure our programs meet the real needs of women we serve. In a small nonprofit like ours, board members are not only decision-makers, they are active partners in the work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Mission Alignment & Advocacy
      • Champion the mission and values of Restore Hope in the community
      • Act as an ambassador to help raise awareness and support
    • Hands-On Engagement
      • Support programs and events
      • Offer practical help as needed
    • Fundraising & Resource Development
      • Make a personally meaningful annual donation
      • Help identify and cultivate donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities
    • Governance & Oversight
      • Attend and actively participate in board meetings (typically quarterly)
      • Contribute to discussions around strategy, policy, legal considerations, finances, and sustainability
      • Ensure legal, ethical, and financial accountability
    • Collaboration & Support
      • Serve on a committee or take on specific projects
      • Provide professional skills or lived experience to strengthen the team

    Qualifications:

    We welcome board members from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Ideal candidates will:

    • Be willing to pitch in wherever needed and learn as we grow
    • Have experience or interest in areas like social services, fundraising, nonprofit development, finance, communications, legal services, or community outreach
