Description
Velocity Bicycle Cooperative is looking for a new chairperson for the board of directors. The position will officially become vacant in July of 2026, but you can start shadowing the current chairperson now, to facilitate a smooth transition.
Velocity has a working board, and the chairperson position is ideal for someone who wants hands-on involvement in the day-to-day operations of a bicycle cooperative. A minimum of two hours per week are needed to respond to emails and coordinate decision-making. In addition, the board chair should participate in person at Velocity's commercial shops and volunteer programs in Del Ray, Alexandria, an average of twice per week in order to understand Velocity's functioning and engage with participants.
