Whether guiding visitors to their loved one's room, providing comfort items to patients or helping staff with provide excellent patient care, Scripps volunteers touch lives of our patients in may ways. Volunteers greet patients and visitors, assist patients at the bedside, support patient’s family members in the waiting rooms, and assist staff members in clinical areas.
Volunteers are assigned to shifts in the Intensive Care Units, Emergency Department, Nursing Units, Volunteer Office, Gift Shop, Canine Therapy, Waiting Rooms, Information desk and much more.
Our volunteers give thousands of hours of service each year in many different ways. Our volunteers’ efforts are appreciated by staff, physicians, patients and their families and enhance the overall level of care we provide.
Volunteers must be willing to make a commitment to volunteering for six months and 100 hours and serve in at least one four-hour shift a week and be at least 15 years of age. Volunteers must provide copies of required immunizations.
We have opportunities throughout the Scripps system and at various locations. Please let us know what area of town you wish to volunteer. Please visit our website: www.Scripps.org.
