Memory Mentor volunteers provide in-home support and a social connection for people with memory loss or dementia who live alone and have little or no caregiving support. Volunteers are assigned to one or more seniors and visit them on a regularly scheduled basis.
Memory Mentor volunteers will be responsible for: (1) contacting their assigned senior(s) on a mutually agreed upon schedule to provide social support to reduce loneliness, (2) may help with grocery shopping, reviewing mail with senior, providing reminders; and (3) providing safety and wellness checks. Services are offered 7 days a week, excluding holidays, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Training sessions will be conducted in-person or via Zoom.
You can help seniors maintain their independence and ability to live at home, provide a social connection, and reduce social isolation and loneliness. You can become a Memory Mentor.
