    NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, Pan-Asian American professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.

    About the role:

    The President is the leader and most senior officer on the Executive Team. The President is responsible for leading the Chapter and providing organizational direction with vision, mission, and goals of NAAAP New York.With a focus on strategy and tactics, the President is responsible for furthering the interests and growth of the organization. Working in tandem with the EVP and Board of Directors, the President provides leadership to the Leadership Team. The President will also report to the Board of Directors, providing updates and partnering with the Board of Directors, works closely with the other Chapter Presidents in the Presidents’ Council, and represents the Chapter at various levels at NAAAP National and the community at large where required.

    As President of the NAAAP New York chapter, you will:

    • Perform all duties incumbent of the office of President and such other duties as prescribed by the Board from time to time.
    • Build and coach the Chapter Leadership Team.
    • Maintain objectives and direction of the Chapter as set out in the by-laws.
    • Formulate near term, mid-term and long-term goals.
    • Maintains and liaises with Senior Advisory Board.
    • Present at board meetings.
    • Delegate major committee assignments.
    • Act as spokesperson and representative of the Chapter at public/private functions and at NAAAP National.
    • Provides and exercises executive and organizational oversight.
    • Functions on both a strategic and tactical level to ensure organizational consistency and excellence.
    • Empower leadership team members with achievable goals and provide the tools to enable successful outcomes.
    • Manage and allocate resources to support Chapter Leadership Team members' efforts with Programming.
    • Foster a culture of continuous growth for the Chapter leadership and the Chapter itself.
    • Build and nurture external community and corporate partnerships.
    • Oversees the activities of VPs to help maximize operating efficiency & potential.
    • Provides high level strategic support to Programming.
    • Approve major projects and initiatives as required.
