    Teen Parent Mentor

The YWCA Greensboro Teen Parent Mentor Program is seeking volunteers to serve as mentors to pregnant and parenting teens. Mentors support teen participants through consistent communication, attendance at specified program events, and spending time with their mentee as decided within the mentor/mentee relationship. Mentors provide friendship, support, and advice to teens who are navigating pregnancy, parenthood, school, employment, and other situations teens may find challenging.

Mentor receive monthly training or check-ins by program staff to ensure strong matches and support. Training topics such as trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and mental health first aid, contribute to mentor's personal development.

Mentors are asked to make a one-year commitment, and spend at least 3-5 hours monthly with their mentee through text, phone/video call, attendance at events, or in-person. Mentors must be over the age of 18.
