    Description

Volunteer to teacher English/ Citizenship/ Computer classes

Currently, Project Light Language School offers Face-to-Face. Our school building meets the CDC's requirements to address the COVID-19 situation. The facility has UV lights in our school AC system; temperature check-in upon entering the building is now optional. Classrooms have individual desks and table dividers, masks/face shields are required and provided, sanitary stations are available, and hallways/classrooms/desks are cleaned regularly.

Project Light needs volunteers to teach adults English as a foreign language in organized classes at Project Light's location (1104 14th Street West). Project Light of Manatee is an Adult English Language School (non-profit) in Bradenton.

Most teachers teach 1-2 classes per week( 2-4 hrs) when they can complete a semester (Fall or Spring). The School is closed during the summertime.

The minimum required time is 2 hours.

The School has comfortable newly remodeled classrooms, textbooks, support, and training.

There are 6-18 students in a group. We do not require previous teaching experience, although it is a plus.

Teacher training is provided individually or in groups annually and daily if necessary.

The School uses ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) textbooks and curricula. In addition, students' learning progress is monitored through testing.

We also offer Citizenship and Computer classes.

Retired teachers find this a rewarding experience.

    Classes are held weekly.
