    Description

    Fundraising Committee

    Fundraising Assistant

    • Assist the Director of Finance and Fundraising with sourcing public grants
    • Assist Director of Finance and Fundraising with sourcing grants and donations from private corporations/individuals
    • Foster relationships with donors
    • Assist with brainstorming and creating fundraising events
      • One Time Events
      • Annual Events
    • Assist with tracking of donations and grants received
      • Help devise system to track grants received and dates for renewals if applicable
      • Help devise and maintain a calendar of due dates for grants/donations
      • Help maintain records for specific grants and expenditures allowed
    • Meet Bi-Weekly with Fundraising Committee and attend general meeting with wider safe haven space members
    • Be able to communicate effectively with others on the committee

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (MA/MBA preferred) in Business, Management, or Finance
    • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in the field of grant writing and research, finances, business, and management
    • Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
    • Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector
    • Technologically savvy, with an ability to point to examples of having worked with IT staff to develop and implement new processes and systems that increased efficiency in a fast-moving environment
    • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented.
    • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to Safe Haven Space’s mission.
