Art "Therapy" Teacher

Palo Alto Housing is seeking a volunteer to lead an adult art "therapy" club. Although the club is not designed to be formal art therapy, it should be a safe space where folks can come and explore art is a relaxing, judgment-free environment.

The art facilitator will have a monthly budget and stockpile of supplies to design their own sessions but in general, classes should be open-ended and focus on free expression, relaxation, and just having fun!

Our ideal volunteer:

• Has some type of background in art

• Is open-mind, warm, and has an approachable personality

• can commit to 1.5-2 hours of art instruction once a week for a total of 6 weeks

If you have basic knowledge of painting and drawing, a clear communication style, and a desire to help youth be empowered through art, this may be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!
