    Grant Writer (Volunteer)

    This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising and grant writing, develop a deeper understanding of nonprofit management, and build a strong professional network. Though this volunteer position is open to all who are willing to help us to reach our mission, we highly encourage retirees, and stay-at-home parents/adults.

    Purpose: You'll play a crucial role in helping NCT achieve its mission to uplift and engage vulnerable and marginalised communities . As a Volunteer Grant Writer, you will be instrumental in researching, writing, and coordinating our grant application process, and assisting with donation management.

    This is a fully virtual role that requires someone capable of working independently with minimal supervision. You can be anywhere in the world, but require proficiency in English. This role is not suitable for individuals seeking to gain experience in creative writing.

    Position Description: The Volunteer Grant Writer will work directly with NCT's Founder Chairman. Your primary responsibilities will include:

    Grant Writing

    • Develop and write compelling grant proposals and reports for foundations, corporations, and government agencies, aligning with our grants calendar and reporting requirements.
    • Foster best practices for all grant-related functions, including proposal writing, budget development, and data integrity.
    • Gather necessary institutional information from various NCT's departments to craft strong case statements, letters of intent, proposals, and reports.
    • Research & Planning
      • Identify and research prospective corporate and foundation donors.
      • Develop effective solicitation strategies to secure funding for NCT initiatives, strategically linking programmatic goals with fundraising opportunities.
      • Monitor relevant news and grant trends pertinent to NCT's needs, including Foundations' grants, private/public foundations, Corporate Foundations, and Govt. grants. Goal Setting
        • Collaborate to set annual goals for proposals written, funds raised, and new prospects.
        • Goal setting based on the project requirements and Organizational strategy.
      • Relationship Development
        • Gain a deep understanding of NCT's history and programs to articulate them effectively in written proposals.
        • Support the development and nurturing of relationships with institutional funders.
      • Position Requirements
      • We are seeking a dedicated and driven individual with:
        • Ability to articulate and model NCT's mission, vision, and values.
        • Working knowledge of Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
        • Proficiency in English
        • Strong organizational skills, ability to set priorities, and meet deadlines.
        • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
        • Ability to handle confidential matters with the utmost integrity.
        • Reliable access to a phone and computer.

      • Drug-Free and Healthy Youth: If young people are equipped with knowledge, life skills, and community support, and families, schools, and institutions actively participate in prevention, then youth will make healthy choices and resist substance abuse.
      • Cross-Cutting Strategies
      • Community capacity building for prevention, response, and advocacy.
      • Partnerships with schools, law enforcement, and local government.
      • Evidence-based advocacy to influence policy and norms.
      • Participatory approaches amplifying voices of women, children, and marginalized groups.
      • Climate-sensitive and sustainable program design.
      • Robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems.
