    Description

Medical Journalists, Writers/Researchers, use your Passion and Skillset to Safeguard Young Hearts

    Hello from CHAD!

The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists has provided 10,000 heart screenings (Echocardiograms and Ekgs) to young people to prevent Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes and Students. Our new focus is a "Heart-Healthy Living Program for the Young through Diet, Exercise, and Monthly Tips from Cardiologists, Fitness, and Nutrition Professionals." Your focus would be finding the "latest heart news," to inform parents and educators and athletes themselves on current issues such as, Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes, Florida becoming the 1st state to require ECGs for its Athletes, the latest hand-held screening devices for ECGs, current trends for obesity and high cholesterol in young people, and in our Gift of Art mission which focuses on the 'inner heart,' what are the issues that are affecting the inner well-being of our children's hearts? Are gun violence and accidents still the top killers of our children? How can we care for their emotional fears and needs? How can recreational drugs, smoking, and alcohol affect their heart? Your expert skills in research and informing our parent site visitors are crucial in raising awareness of the major needs of our youth's inner and outer hearts.

The foundation's namesake, Chad Alan Butrum, was only 26 years old when he died of "Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes," while playing football with no history of heart problems. He lived his life caring about the health and welfare of all people, regardless of age, orientation, or heritage-"Healthy Body, Mind, and Spirit." Chad never drank alcohol, smoked cigarettes, or did drugs. He loved sports and eating good food. His non-profit foundation is founded on the values he lived by so that others may live long, healthy lives and achieve their greatest dreams.

Your expertise can help safeguard hearts and instill a heart-healthy lifestyle now and for future generations. Please send us a resume and include in the body of your email what interests you most about our "Heart-Healthy Program for Young People," and dessiminating the latest in heart news, both inner and outer, for our young people. We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your keen interest in helping CHAD inform and safeguard young hearts.
