    Description

Call for Expression of Interest for the recruitment of young green girls (YGG) volunteers on the Solar Powered Multiplatform 2025 project in Togo

The VAADD association, through its OSEK POWER sustainable energy program, recently implemented, in partnership with EKOenergy, a multifunctional solar platform project for a rural community in Togo. This project aims to provide electrical energy to populations isolated from the grid, enabling them to mill grains such as cassava and corn. The goal is to improve access to solar energy, contribute to climate change mitigation, and strengthen the resilience of rural populations in the face of climate change.

This project has demonstrated a significant and positive impact on the community, notably by improving quality of life and creating economic opportunities, particularly for women farmers. VAADD places great importance on the full involvement of beneficiaries in the identification, development, and implementation of its projects.

With a view to implementing an upcoming SPM project, we are looking for motivated and committed young women to join our team as Young Green Girls (YGG) volunteers.

    1- Responsibilities

The Young Green Girls (YGG) volunteers will provide essential support to the VAADD team in implementing the SPM project. This role involves active participation on the ground, engagement with beneficiary communities, and contribution to the project's sustainable development objectives.

The responsibilities of the Young Green Girls volunteers may include, but are not limited to:

    • Supporting project implementation activities,
    • Actively engaging beneficiary community members, particularly women, to ensure their full involvement in the project,
    • Assisting in collecting feedback and conducting beneficiary surveys using the SuiR tool to assess project impact and satisfaction levels,
    • Participating in communication and awareness-raising efforts around the project,
    • Raising awareness of the project's positive environmental contributions, such as carbon dioxide reduction and reduced deforestation (climate change mitigation and adaptation).

    2- Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:

    • A strong interest in sustainable development, renewable energy, and community empowerment,
    • An ability to work and interact effectively with rural populations in varying conditions,
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills,
    • A team player and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders (VAADD staff, partners, community members, other volunteers),
    • Full adherence to VAADD's values and charter

    3- Benefits

As a YGG on an SPM project, you will:

    • Undergo a basic technical orientation and basic training on the fundamentals and ideals of the VAADD association.
    • Gain valuable hands-on experience implementing sustainable development projects in the field: preparation and installation, configuration and remote monitoring of solar photovoltaic systems, solar pumping installation, manufacturing of traditional improved cookstoves, etc.
    • Have the opportunity to work within VAADD and collaborate with its partners.
    • Contribute directly to the concrete improvement of the quality of life of rural communities and the creation of economic opportunities, particularly for women.
    • Deepen your knowledge of solar energy technology and its socio-environmental impacts.
    • Develop skills in community engagement and project monitoring.
    • Be part of a friendly team recognized for its ability to successfully execute projects.
