Apartment Set Up for New Families
Florida Resurrection House is a residential program for families who each live in a separate apartment. After a participant graduates from the program and moves out into the community the unit they had occupied is prepared for a new family to move in. This means it is cleaned, painted and repairs are made before it is completely furnished. Here is where volunteers help by doing everything needed to make it look homey. They hang a shower curtain, stock the kitchen with dishes and cooking utensils, put away linens, make beds, move a few pieces of furniture and assemble some as well. Volunteers sometimes also add their own finishing touches by purchasing a plant, making place mats etc. Volunteer teams who participate in apartment set-ups all say it is such a fun and rewarding way to support our families.
