    Description

    Furniture movers needed!

At MFTA we strive to keep valuable materials out of landfills and place them into the hands of art professionals, educators, and students. We receive donated materials daily and provide schools, non-profits, city agencies, and arts and social service organizations with the opportunity to collect supplies for free. Volunteering with Materials for the Arts is a great opportunity to help the arts and non-profit community in NYC. We need help with organizing, arranging, and stocking our shelves with the incredible donations that come into our warehouse. MFTA’s warehouse is a mix of JOANN’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Raymour & Flanigan, and Staples. We have a little (and a lot) of everything! Volunteering is also a great opportunity to get to know others in the community and work hand in hand with others who are volunteering their time here.

We are looking for people who are able to lift and move furniture for an extended period of time. Our furniture section is in need of some TLC. This task will include digging in and separating furniture that is badly damaged or fully broken, Stacking flat surfaces like tables or dressers, stacking and moving chairs, and organizing all furniture into sections where all tables are together, all chairs are together, and make a miscellaneous section with props and special furniture.

We would prefer to have a group come in but arealso seeking individuals willing to work with other individuals.

Please respond to this post if interested in helping out with this project.
