Join Constru Casa: Transforming Communities, Building Dreams

Do you want to travel, make an impact, and change lives?

Are you passionate about helping others? Are you looking for a meaningful experience in Guatemala? Constru Casa invites you to join our volunteer program and be part of a mission that transforms lives.

For over 20 years, Constru Casa has been building safe and dignified homes for families living in poverty in Guatemala. We believe that a secure home is the foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty, providing families with hope, stability, and opportunities for a better future.

By volunteering with us, you’ll not only help build homes, but you’ll also contribute to improving lives. Whether it’s mixing concrete, laying blocks, or plastering walls, your hands-on efforts will have a direct and lasting impact. Plus, you’ll immerse yourself in Guatemalan culture, engage with local communities, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face.

Make your travel meaningful. Be part of something bigger. Help us build homes, hope, and brighter futures.

    Why Volunteer with Constru Casa?

    Direct impact:

Help build homes that change lives. Every house we construct provides stability, safety, and hope to a family.

    Cultural immersion:

Experience authentic Guatemalan culture. You'll work in local communities and learn about their rich traditions and way of life.

    Multidisciplinary collaboration:

Be part of a passionate and diverse team. Collaborate with professionals, families, and other volunteers to achieve a common goal.

    Personal and professional growth:

Gain experience in social work, construction, and international collaboration while strengthening skills like leadership, communication, and problem-solving.

Volunteer Opportunities: Be a home builder, Be a changemaker

Step into the heart of our mission by helping build a safe and dignified home for a family in need. As a volunteer, you’ll be actively involved in the construction of a three-room home, two –room home or one-room home, working side by side with skilled foremen, local families, and other volunteers. Your contributions will go beyond bricks and mortar — you’ll be building hope and a brighter future.

    Here’s what you’ll do:

    • Lay the foundation of a new beginning:

Get your hands dirty as you help prepare the site, mix concrete, and pour the foundation that will provide stability and security for years to come.

    • Raise the walls of ppportunity:

Feel the rewarding challenge of carrying and stacking concrete blocks, helping shape the walls that will shelter and protect a family.

    • Crafting the finishing touches:

Assist with plastering, smoothing, and painting, giving the home its final touch of warmth and care.

    • Roofing for resilience:

Help with assembling the roof, ensuring families are safe from the elements and have a sturdy place to call home.

    • Collaborate and learn:

Work alongside our professional foremen, who will teach you practical construction skills, ensuring safety and efficiency while empowering you to make a tangible difference.

    • Home improvement volunteer:

Work on improving and upgrading existing homes. This includes tasks like repairing roofs, painting walls, or constructing additional features to enhance the safety and functionality of homes. Like all our projects, these activities are guided by expert builders to ensure quality and safety.

All work is done under the supervision of a professional foreman, ensuring a safe and productive environment for everyone involved. Whether you have construction experience or are completely new to it, your contribution will be invaluable in helping families achieve the dream of a secure home.

What we look for in our volunteers

    • Commitment: A desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute.
    • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to diverse environments and local needs.
    • Spanish proficiency: No prior Spanish skills are required! All you need is a positive attitude, a willingness to work hard, and a genuine desire to support the families we serve.
    • Duration: Ranges from one week to three months, depending on the role and availability.

Volunteer Benefits: More Than Just Building Homes
