    Description

Volunteer at Garrapata State Park! (Monthly Events)

Volunteers will help remove non-native, invasive plants such as Cape ivy, mustard, ice plant, and sticky eupatorium that threaten the persistence of native vegetation communities. We may also assist staff with their annual seed collection. If needed, we will pick up trash from the project area. Controlling invasive plants and revegetation with native species are critical to protecting sensitive habitat and natural resources. This project helps support sensitive species, like the Smith’s blue butterfly and multiple rare plants that call Garrapata home. Ages 8 and older are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a waiver signed by their guardian).

PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required to ensure volunteers receive important details on where to meet the group and what to bring. Please sign up on our webpage https://volunteer.calparks.org/
