    Job Title: STEM Activity Day Volunteers

    Location: Milton

    Time Commitment: June 5th (4:30 pm-8:00 pm)

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    OVERVIEW:

    Are you ready to bring some fun and excitement to STEM education? STEM Canada is looking for enthusiastic Activity Day Volunteers to join our STEM Expo for Kids! We need organized and enthusiastic individuals to create a fun and safe environment. We are looking to inspire children and families with the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math.

    DUTIES:

    • Planning and running fun activities across all STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math),
    • Assisting with the setup and facilitation of a kids’ hackathon.
    • Supporting children and families during the Expo.
    • Helping with general event logistics, such as greeting attendees, setup/take-down, and keeping the space organized
    • Encouraging creativity, learning, and teamwork among young participants

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Planning and running STEM-related content for students from kindergarten to grade 8 .
    • Ability to be part of the planning team beginning immediately through to June 5
    • Be present on the day of the event in Milton
    • Ability to connect with students and confidently carry out activity plans
    • A self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently.
