Role Summary
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and provides strategic direction and operational oversight across all marketing functions. This role is not about handling weekly executional tasks but about guiding the team, ensuring accountability, and shaping long-term growth.
A major focus of the CMO will be recruiting and building out the marketing team. This leader ensures Yuvoice has the right talent, skills, and energy in place to drive visibility and impact, while creating an environment where each contributor thrives and the collective effort reflects Yuvoice’s mission.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Oversight
- Set the vision for Yuvoice’s marketing strategy and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide broad strategic guidance while overseeing the marketing team operationally.
- Establish priorities, set expectations, and hold the team accountable for results.
- Collaborate with other executives to ensure marketing efforts support Yuvoice’s broader mission.
Team Recruitment & Development
- Lead the effort to recruit and expand the marketing team, identifying skill gaps and sourcing talent globally.
- Build, mentor, and engage a diverse team of volunteers.
- Ensure team members are motivated, supported, and contributing effectively.
Team Supervision
- Provide oversight and accountability for functional leads across:
- Content Creation (LinkedIn, BlueSky, TikTok, newsletters, graphic design)
- Brand & Communications (PR, SEO, Ad Grants)
- Media & Events (podcasts, events)
- Analytics & Insights (data analysis, reporting)
- Ensure each function is on track weekly and aligned with Yuvoice’s goals.
Brand, PR, and Market Presence
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand identity across all channels.
- Provide oversight for PR, digital content, and event strategies to expand Yuvoice’s visibility.
- Guide campaigns and initiatives without direct weekly execution.
Data and Insights
- Oversee data analysis to ensure marketing efforts are measured and optimized.
- Review reports and provide strategic input on adjustments to improve outcomes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience in marketing at the executive or senior director level.
- Proven ability to recruit, build, and manage creative and technical teams.
- Strong understanding of digital content creation, PR, SEO, events, and analytics.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
