    Description

Azura Literacy's virtual reading tutor program pairs volunteers with elementary kids who are behind grade level in reading to help improve their reading skills and instill a love of reading. Volunteers read with students one-on-one on Zoom, sharing digital children's books and interactive tools to help kids read independently and listen to read-alouds.
Many of our students are Spanish-speaking, and their parents would like assistance helping them read in English. We are in need of more tutors who are bilingual in English/Spanish.
This program is virtual, so volunteers can serve from anywhere!
    Volunteer requirements:
    • at least 18 years old
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish
    • have access to a computer and reliable, high-speed internet connection
    • proficient in use of web browsers/navigating multiple tabs, using Zoom meetings/screen sharing/annotation tools
    • pass a literacy screener
