    Help give History a Hand!-Volunteer at the Marietta History Center

    Volunteers Needed!

    Located right off of the Marietta Square, the Marietta History Center (MHC) has been preserving local history since 1996. The Museum has grown significantly and counts on it's great volunteers to help keep the doors open. Galleries include: Andrews' Raider's Room, The General History Gallery, Military Gallery, Home Life Gallery, The Cole Bedroom, as well as a couple temporary exhibits. Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds so no need to be a Marietta expert to volunteer here! We truly believe that you learn on the "job".

    If you have a few hours of free time throughout the week we’d love to hear from you. Volunteers are needed to help in the museum store, work on projects, welcome visitors with a smile and answer all kinds of questions about how life used to be here in Marietta and Cobb County.

    Weekly 3 hour shifts available, Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Museum also has after hours opportunities.

    Requirements:

    - At least 16 years old

    - Must work at least 1 three hour shift a week OR every other week (10-1 or 1-4 Tues.-Sat.).

    - Can commit to a consistent volunteer schedule for at least 3 months

    - Friendly and willing to engage with all types of individuals

    - Ability to stay on your feet as you interact with visitors around the Museum

    We are handicap accessible and will work with you to provide a great volunteer experience!

    Volunteer benefits include volunteer workshops & volunteer only events, free access to some paid events, and new knowledge of Marietta's rich history!
