    Description

CASA Volunteers Needed for Foster Youth

Anchorage CASA is looking for caring, committed adults interested in serving foster children and youth as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteer. There are nearly 900 children in foster care in our community. We are currently able to serve less than 200 of those children through our network of volunteers.

CASA volunteers are appointed to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is safely reunified with family or placed in another safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.

If you’d like to make a difference in a child’s life, visit our website or contact us to learn more.
