    Description

    Please Note:Our fall volunteer orientation will be an 8-hr. session scheduled on a Saturday in late October or early November.Those dates and times have not yet been solidified.We plan to have the details for our fall training confirmed by mid to late September.

    The application process and online training component must be completed to be eligible to register for the in-person orientation.

    Provide continuity and support for families experiencing loss of a loved one. Join our bereavement volunteers by becoming a companion to a person experiencing loss or making phone calls help with the loneliness and isolation that many recently bereaved individual's encounter. A listening ear and the ability to provide caring with appropriate boundaries can be valuable for individuals navigating after the loss of a loved one.

    Schedules for individual volunteer bereavement support are flexible and based upon your availability.

    Bi-lingual volunteers are encouraged. Volunteers especially needed in Ada, Big Rapids, Caledonia, Grand Rapids, Grandville, Holland, Lowell, Middleville, Newaygo, Rockford, and Sparta areas. Note: Volunteers are asked to wait one year after the death of a family member or friend before volunteering.

    We offer a flexible Volunteer Orientation program!

    This training program format will allow candidates to complete some of the required training thru an on-line program at your convenience and provide additional times and locations for the in-person training component. The goal is to shorten the on-boarding process and add more flexibility in the training process making it easier for interested individuals to join our volunteer program.

    We will work with you to help you join our volunteer program and start supporting patients thru out our 11 county service territory!
