    Set the Stage for Scriber Place

    Be part of history at the Scriber Place Groundbreaking-a first-of-its-kind event in Snohomish County.

    This project will bring 52 affordable housing units to life through an innovative partnership with the Edmonds School District, creating homes specifically for students and their families experiencing homelessness.

    We’re looking for volunteers (ages 18+) to help us prepare the site for this milestone event. Your time and effort will ensure the groundbreaking is welcoming, smooth, and memorable for our community and partners.

    What You'll Do

    Volunteers will help with:

    • Making sure the site is groundbreak-ready
    • Setting up chairs for guests
    • Hanging banners and signage
    • Preparing refreshments
    • Providing general event support as needed

    Why It Matters

    This groundbreaking marks the start of a community-driven housing solution that will change lives. By helping us set the stage, you’re playing a key role in launching this project with the dignity and celebration it deserves.

    What to Wear & Bring

    To stay safe and comfortable, please come prepared with:

    • Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
    • Sneakers or sturdy closed-toe shoes
    • Personal water bottle (we’ll also have bottled water on site)

    We’ll provide:

    • Gloves and supplies
    • Snacks and bottled water
    • Sunscreen

    Be Part of the Celebration

    This isn’t just about event setup-it’s about helping us celebrate a milestone in creating safe, stable homes for families in need. Volunteers are warmly encouraged to stay for the Groundbreaking Ceremony at 12:00 PM.

    • Date/Time: Wednesday, October 1st, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM (followed by the groundbreaking ceremony at 12:00 PM)
    • Location: 5801 194th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036
    • Parking: Free onsite parking available
    • Check-In: Meet Caitlin upon arrival at the site entrance
    • Age Requirement: Must be 16+
    • Experience: Not required-just bring a great attitude and willingness to pitch in

    • Group Size Range: 1 - 10
    • Event can be held at a volunteer group location (e.g. office, park)
    • Event can be held at organization location(s)
    • No Donation
