Play some board games, and chat with families transitioning out of homelessness at an interim housing site in North Hollywood.
Why: One of the most powerful ways you can help our participants transition out of homelessness is to give them opportunities for healthy social interaction. It may seem like you're just playing checkers, but you're helping someone practice their communication skills and heal their interpersonal relationships.
Who: L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) works to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services.
What to Expect: Volunteering to play board games with individuals transitioning from homelessness can be a great way to give back to your community. Whether you're playing dominos, Uno, or Connect 4, you will have the opportunity to connect with those transitioning away from homelessness, and your time and effort can significantly impact them.
What's Required:
Must first attend our required (but excellent) training
Must be over 18
