San Quentin SkunkWorks is the first incarcerated-led innovation lab. From inside San Quentin, our team drives bold work in justice reform, gaming, media, policy, and reentry. Now we’re building a new website — and we need a frontend developer with a designer’s eye to help launch it.
This isn’t corporate UX. This is design as advocacy. Your work will help incarcerated changemakers reach funders, journalists, families, and partners through a platform that reflects dignity, leadership, and vision for change.
You’ll be shaping the user experience from the ground up — wireframes, page flows, and frontend code — working alongside our graphic designer and storytelling team to bring our digital identity to life.
What You’ll Do
Design wireframes, flows, and navigation with empathy for diverse audiences
Translate our visual identity into clean, accessible frontend code (HTML/CSS/JS; React or similar welcome)
Collaborate with our designer and storytelling team to align visuals and narrative
Create a digital platform that helps incarcerated leaders connect with the outside world
Impact
Your code becomes the bridge. The site you help build will amplify incarcerated voices and ideas — carrying them beyond the prison walls to funders, policymakers, and allies worldwide.
👉 Apply now to help launch a site that changes how the world sees prison — from the inside out.
