    Description

Help pick fruit to feed hungry families in San Diego County (55+)

STAY ACTIVE by volunteering outside under trees loaded with fruit. MAKE NEW FRIENDS. HELP FEED hungry residents. We need volunteers 55 and older to help pick and transport fruit in most areas of San Diego County.

We need volunteers especially in the Fallbrook area and in the South Bay.

Volunteer only about 2 hours per week. There is no minimum hourly requirement for volunteering, but many volunteers enjoy it so much, they serve for 3-4 hours per week. But it is up to you!

If interested, you could also help transport food in your own vehicle to local food distribution areas, such as food pantries and churches.

Some volunteers drive one of our Gleaner-owned vans (or assist as sorters and loaders) to move unsold groceries from supermarkets to warehouses. Senior Gleaners donates the fruit and food to over 75 nonprofits, including the San Diego Food Bank, Feeding San Diego, Father Joe's, East County Transitional Living Center, food pantries, churches and other similar organizations throughout San Diego County.

If by chance you don't get a response from us within a few days, please email gm@seniorgleanerssdco.org.
