Are you looking for fulfilling volunteer opportunities? If so, look no further. You will be rewarded with new friendships, fulfillment and fun when you become a Partners in Caring volunteer. A caregiver near you could use some free time - a couple of hours off from caring for a loved one to shop, nap, take a walk, visit a friend.
Help a local caregiver by providing friendly visits and caring companionship to someone with early stage memory loss or dementia. Visit for a few hours each week on your own schedule. We will provide training, ongoing support and work with you to find the right match.
Activities may include going to a ball game or for walks together, looking at photo albums, engaging in conversation, painting, arts and crafts, gardening, shopping, sharing a meal or signing together, among other activities. Utilize reminiscence strategies to engage the person you visit- use memories as a point of connection and help them find meaning in their life story. Our volunteers have made fulfilling friendships while having fun, while providing a caregiver some free time.
