    Blood Drive Volunteers Needed to Check-In Donors (Customer Service)

    Blood Drive Volunteer

    As a representative of Vitalant at mobile drives and donation centers, Blood Drive Volunteers will ensure that blood donors have an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive until the time they leave.

    Responsibilities:

    • Welcome and check in donors.
    • Explain the donation process as necessary and answer any non-eligibility questions donors may have.
    • Ensure each donor receives pre-donation materials
    • Offer promotional items when available
    • Encourage donors to donate the best product for their blood type for maximum impact
    • Manage donor flow
    • Provide excellent customer service
    • Set up and maintain cleanliness in the Reception and Refreshment/Hospitality areas
    • Ensure the Refreshment/Hospitality area is clean, restocked, and that donors are rehydrated after the donation procedure.
    • Check if the donor was provided post-donation information before leaving the drive
    • Report possible adverse post-donation physical reactions to staff.
    • May make reminder/cancellation calls, reschedule donor appointments, and perform follow-up activities as directed.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Must be 16 years of age or older
    • Must pass Criminal Background Check if 18 or older
    • Must have a valid Social Security Number
    • Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service
    • Demonstrate professional demeanor at all times
    • Comfortable working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds
    • Ability to understand technology needed for position: Donor Check-in, tablets, smartphones, apps, etc.
    • Ability to regularly commit to a schedule, arrive punctually, and adapt to changes
    • Reliable transportation
    • Commit to 50 hours per calendar year
