So What Else is partnering with Maryland Physicians Care to help bring grocery home deliveries to those who cannot leave their homes and qualify for the program. The list of clients grows steadily and every week we need help getting these deliveries to the community members who are homebound and cannot attend our distributions!
For now: Thursdays and Fridays, around Noon: Volunteer drivers come to our Baltimore Resource Center in SW Baltimore, load up dry goods and cold goods, and deliver to a short list of clients around the city! To give an example, one of our current drivers tackles 20 deliveries a week on Thursdays and is done in a few hours!
What is needed: A valid driver's license, the volunteers personal vehicle, lifting and carrying capacity of about 30lbs repetitive, and a smart phone for GPS guidance and reporting to the coordinator (that's me!)
The list grows daily and we are in need of drivers with a few hours a week on their hands to help make sure these people get food, since they can't do it themselves. This is a great opportunity to help those without mobility, and to make sure the community thrives!
