South Shore Guidance Center is seeking dependable, compassionate volunteers to help transport youth participants between their homes (in areas like Freeport and Hempstead) and our program site in Freeport. This role plays a key part in ensuring that children have consistent access to summer enrichment programming.
Volunteers will drive agency vehicles to safely pick up and drop off participants. Transportation is needed Monday through Friday between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM, but volunteers can commit to as few as 2 days per week based on their availability. This opportunity may extend into the school year for those interested.
We’re looking for individuals who are friendly, responsible, and comfortable working with youth. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a background check. A clean driving record is required, and a brief orientation or training may be provided.
This is a meaningful way to support young people in your community and make a direct impact in their day-to-day lives, all while enjoying a flexible schedule.
