During our open times, our largest need for volunteers is in the animal enclosures. These volunteers manage the gates in the animal pens, as well as provide information to the public about the animals and ensure the safety of both the animals and the public. Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with the public and animals. We have many species of animals including: chickens, pigs, goats, cows, sheep, donkeys, ponies, ducks, geese and rabbits. There is no minimum volunteer requirement. We also have volunteer tour guide opportunities available. Please inquire about that!
Currently, volunteer opportunities are available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10am-4pm. We also have volunteer opportunities on Indigenous Peoples Day, October 13th from 10am-4pm. Typically the volunteer shifts are split into 3 hours of either 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm; however, you are certainly welcome to stay the whole day, and we would definitely appreciate that!
GPS will likely direct you to The Center's main lodge off of Southwest Highway, however The Children's Farm is located on the East side of Southwest Highway.
