    Location: Massachusetts - hybrid, with some meetings in Burlington office, and occasional events in Essex County and beyond

    Reports to: Senior Directors (shared role with Professional Learning and Strategic Initiatives teams)

    About This Role

    Power of Place Learning Communities is seeking a professional with experience effectively managing events, data, and projects to join our small and dedicated team!

    Essential Job Functions

    The Program Associate, Events and Project Management will work with multiple program teams at Power of Place, including with the Senior Director of Professional Learning and the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives. Work will include supporting both virtual and in-person (across Massachusetts) programming.

    The Program Associate is responsible for the following:

    Event Management (~50%):

    • Collaborate to create event plans for in-person and online events
    • Manage in-person event logistics such as technology, meals, supplies, and venue selection as needed
    • Day-of event coordination, including set-up and breakdown and vendor management
    • Support online events with technical facilitation as needed

    Program Project Management (~40%):

    • Develop, manage, and coordinate program-related project management plans and spreadsheets within existing systems
    • Manage program applicants and registrants throughout the process of selection and placement; conduct screenings; schedule interviews and maintain candidate communications as needed
    • Research and develop databases of district staff and core information
    • Track and manage participant work products and data
    • Maintain stakeholder listservs

    Program Evaluations and Data (~5%):

    • Manage quantitative data for participant engagement, outcomes, and reach, such as mapping applicant locations, assessing goal attainment, and sharing aggregate demographic data
    • Manage a database of core information on participating districts
    • In partnership with Program Team colleagues, review and summarize initial, interim, and final data on feedback surveys

    Communications (~5%):

    • Manage email communications with participants containing core information about programs and events
    • Design slide decks for quarterly gatherings and other events
    • Conduct phone and email outreach to inquire, as needed, about potential venues and vendors for events and program needs

    Desired Mindsets, Experience, and Qualifications:

    • Significant experience managing logistics and vendor relationships, especially for events
    • Experience and comfort with online research and basic data analysis
    • Strong detail orientation, with significant project management experience, including comfort managing multiple projects and working with multiple different teams concurrently
    • Technical:
      • Deep comfort with Google Suite, especially spreadsheet and slide work
      • Easy comfort with technical aspects of online meetings, especially on Zoom platform
      • Comfort with event and presentation technology (hard- and software)
    • A strong sense of self-efficacy complemented by strong time-management skills
    • Solutions-oriented, eager to innovate and create
    • Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to think quickly, change course when needed, and learn from mistakes
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Clear alignment with organizational mission, including an equity orientation and a belief in the benefits of collective learning and the value of educators to our society
    • Ability to travel to in-person events and meetings in Massachusetts and to lift small to moderate items and generally set up and clean up from events is required for this role.
    • Preferred: An eye for clean and effective visual design
    • Preferred: Knowledge of the Massachusetts educational context
