We’re looking for someone who can see the big marketing picture—and then build it.
At iMission, we help nonprofits and K-12 schools grow their reach, deepen engagement, and activate supporters across digital channels. That work takes more than one specialty. It takes someone who understands how email, social media, websites, and digital ads work together—and who can turn strategy into execution.
We’re looking for a well-rounded digital marketer who can think strategically, work tactically, and move comfortably across platforms to help nonprofit clients build and activate their digital ecosystems.
About the Role
As a Digital Marketing Strategist, you’ll support nonprofits and K-12 schools by planning, executing, and optimizing multi-channel digital marketing efforts. This role blends strategy, content planning, and hands-on implementation—helping clients reach the right people, with the right message, at the right time.
You’ll work across social media, email, websites, and digital advertising—sometimes leading strategy, sometimes rolling up your sleeves to build calendars, launch campaigns, or analyze performance.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety, systems thinking, and mission-driven work.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute integrated digital marketing strategies for nonprofit and K-12 school clients
- Plan and manage social media calendars aligned with fundraising, advocacy, and engagement goals
- Create and schedule content across platforms, collaborating with designers and copywriters as needed
- Support email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, fundraising appeals, and automated journeys
- Contribute to website content planning and optimization (landing pages, campaign pages, CTAs)
- Plan, launch, and optimize digital ads and boosted posts across social platforms
- Analyze performance data across channels and translate insights into recommendations
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, ideally with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
- Proven experience running social media campaigns for fundraising, advocacy, or engagement
- Strong understanding of how different platforms and formats work together (image, carousel, video, long-form)
- Experience with email marketing platforms and audience segmentation
- Hands-on experience with paid social, post boosting, and digital advertising
- Strong grasp of audience personas, journeys, and community-building
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively with a remote team
- Ability to balance strategy with execution and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical skills and comfort interpreting performance data
Bonus Points
- Familiarity with WordPress and website content management
- Experience working in an agency environment
- Comfort juggling multiple clients or initiatives at once
Why Work With iMission
- Work exclusively with nonprofit organizations and K-12 schools doing meaningful work
- Flexible, remote freelance opportunities
- A collaborative, thoughtful team that values clarity, strategy, and impact
- Opportunities for long-term, ongoing work across multiple clients
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and lived experiences to apply.
