PEG seeks an experienced Project Manager for multiple current and prospective projects. The PEG Project Manager role is a part-time, hourly, exempt, at-will role. The Project Manager plays a critical role on PEG’s client delivery team. This person ensures that client projects run smoothly from an operational, logistical, and administrative perspective. They will manage event coordination, budget tracking, vendor communication, timeline management, and workflow organization across multiple clients.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the operational backbone of a project: anticipating needs, organizing complex information, coordinating moving pieces, and ensuring clients experience high-quality, reliable, and values-aligned service.

    Likely workstreams include:

    Client Project Operations & Logistics

    • Organize and execute event logistics, including venue sourcing, AV/catering coordination, travel and lodging arrangements, participant RSVP management, and day-of execution support
    • Develop and maintain tracking systems (e.g., project plans, RSVP trackers, document repositories, status dashboards)
    • Manage scheduling for client meetings, interviews, convenings, and workshops
    • Coordinate and maintain client document organization using Google Drive
    • Prepare meeting agendas, materials, slide decks, and follow-up summaries

    Budgeting & Financial Tracking

    • Manage event and project budgets, ensuring alignment with client scopes and PEG billing practices
    • Track and report expenses; collect and reconcile receipts; maintain budget trackers with accuracy
    • Flag budget risks early and propose solutions to Project Leads

    Vendor & Stakeholder Communications

    • Draft, send, and track communications to vendors, partners, and event participants
    • Follow up with vendors and participants regarding missing documentation, deliverables, or confirmations
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with external partners through timely, professional communication
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for logistics inquiries

    Project Management & Coordination

    • Support Project Leads with light research, file organization, data entry, or survey distribution when needed
    • Anticipate project bottlenecks and propose proactive operational solutions
    • Ensure brand consistency and quality control across client-facing materials

    Skills & qualifications:

    • Passion for social justice
    • Excellent team player; high willingness to go the extra mile
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional client-facing communications
    • Strong math and financial tracking skills, including comfort with spreadsheets, budget trackers, and expense reconciliation
    • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines
    • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing consistently high-quality work
    • Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple clients and shifting priorities
    • Experience in nonprofit, consulting, education, or social-impact environments
    • Prior experience supporting consultants, project teams, or operations-focused roles
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Zoom, and cloud-based project management systems

    About Us:

    publicequitygroup.org

Public Equity Group works with partners poised to make a demonstrable difference on the “big issues of the day,” and in the lives of disadvantaged populations. In particular, we look for clients with the following qualities:

    • Deep social justice commitment and compatible organization values
    • High potential for national or global impact, scale, and/or replication
    • Strong leadership (strategic thinking, management, implementation)
    • High organization capacity to implement (staff and board quality; planning, monitoring, operations, and systems quality)

PEG teams engage in strategy and business planning that is robust, practical, and affordable. Our work typically culminates in summary strategic plans that detail a client’s 3-5+ year goals and Theory of Change, programmatic priorities, organization (staff, skill and system requirements), and economic requirements – as well as ongoing implementation and project management plans. Even so, it is important to us to “meet the client where they are”; as such, we customize our approaches and deliverables to address particular client needs, time and cost constraints, and the like. And despite offering top-flight consulting support, we work hard to keep our fees and other costs consistent with many clients’ economic realities – which is consistent with our values. We also value diversity and cultural competency, a commitment reflected in our leadership, client selection, methodology, staffing, communication & more.

By forging deep, long-term relationships with leaders and organizations at the forefront of their respective fields, supporting their evolution, and celebrating their successes via case studies, media, and more – long after the engagement has ended – we aim to strengthen and empower our partners, helping them build demonstrably better "models" for change; and ultimately spur dramatic improvements in the quality of life of vulnerable populations and communities.

    Sponsorship Policy Notice

At this time, PEG is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for individuals residing outside of the United States. As such, our recruitment and hiring efforts are limited to candidates who are already authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. We encourage all qualified applicants who meet these requirements to apply.
