We offer strategic and operational support to a broad array of stakeholders, including governments, advocacy groups, foundations, health plans, and providers. Our unique and deep experience and expertise is in federal and state health policy, health system transformation, addressing social determinants of health, outreach and enrollment, program, and operations.

    Our Health Policy & Implementation Fellow position is an important part of the firm for us to invest in our future health systems change agents. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure in health law and health policy and implementation at the community level to work in health system transformation nationwide. The fellow supports more than one of our projects at any given time and reports to the senior director of policy and the C-suite. Transform Health is a matrixed hybrid remote work environment.

    This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week fellowship with a one-year contract. To be successful in this role you must be detail-oriented, organized, collaborative, and team-oriented. You must also be adept at using technical data-driven tools such as project management databases and Salesforce CRM, eager to learn, an active listener, and a strong written and verbal communicator.

    Job Duties:

    • Understand and write materials to support the staff with analysis of health law, public policy, or health policy through experience and education.
    • Provide administrative support across a myriad of projects including supporting projects’ use of technology tools (e.g., Zoom, Poll Everywhere, SurveyMonkey, Canva, Salesforce, etc).
    • Write summary reports, blog posts, and issue briefs, and support proposal writing.
    • Develop comprehensive summaries, work plans, and Excel spreadsheets.
    • Assist the team with monitoring contracts and deadlines and ensuring project deliverables are met.
    • Draft policies and procedures and compile program data with close attention to detail to inform strategy and work planning.
    • Research and analyze state and federal policy and trends in health care and health policy.
    • Communicate with stakeholders and work with project teams to set agendas for meetings and help to manage partners towards a collective goal.
    • Support public speaking to carry out our work, including coaching on talking points with our clients and our staff.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred
    • Minimum of one year of experience of health law, public policy, or health policy; consulting firm or private sector experience a plus
    • Familiar with, and experience in, an agile project management environment grounded in health systems. Familiarity with, or expertise in, Medi-Cal (Medicaid), managed care, data systems, health systems design, programs and policies made possible through Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act, outreach and enrollment, or similar areas.
    • Willingness to travel (amount dependent on project and client needs)
    • An eye for detail, organized, takes initiative and enjoys solving complex, systemic problems
    • Eager to learn with a desire to work in health or public policy at the state or national level
    • Excellent time management skills
