    Organizing & Advocacy Director

    Location: Philadelphia & Montgomery County, PA (with periodic travel across the Commonwealth)

    Type: Full-time

    Reports To: Chief of Staff

    Supervises: Two staff members

    Salary: $80,000 & full benefits

    Position Overview

    The Organizing & Advocacy Director leads the Senator’s priority advocacy and organizing initiatives, ensuring projects are well-tracked, coordinated, and delivered on time. This role is responsible for managing 5–7 key policy efforts, organizing community engagement, and building strong partnerships that advance legislative goals.

    Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Director supervises two staff members and works closely with legislative and communications teams to ensure efforts are aligned, organized, and effective.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage 5–7 priority initiatives, maintaining clear tracking systems, timelines, and accountability.
    • Organize and mobilize community members to participate in advocacy, events, and legislative engagement.
    • Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with community, nonprofit, labor, faith, and civic partners.
    • Supervise and support two staff members, ensuring high-quality, organized, and timely work.
    • Coordinate closely with legislative and communications teams to align strategy and messaging.
    • Plan and execute community events, advocacy actions, and rapid-response efforts.
    • Maintain organized records, provide regular progress reports, and ensure follow-through on all projects.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in organizing, advocacy, or legislative work.
    • Strong organizational, tracking, and project management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel across Pennsylvania as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supervising staff.
    • Familiarity with Pennsylvania’s legislative process.
    • Strong facilitation and leadership skills.
