  • Mission

Washington County Juvenile Department protects the public by reducing delinquency and restores victims and the community by holding youth accountable. We create opportunities for change through swift and decisive use of effective practices, building on the strengths of youth and families.

    About Us

The Washington County Juvenile Department STEP Mentoring Program partners a caring adult with an at-risk youth. The goal of the Mentoring Program is to build on a youth’s motivation, inspire hope, and treat all youth and families with dignity, respect, and an awareness of the impact of trauma on their lives. A mentor is a person assigned specifically to a youth to assist them in reaching personal goals, such as academic success, obtaining employment, and developing social skills.
