Middlesex County Center for Empowerment

The Center for Empowerment is the sexual violence program for Middlesex County, New Jersey. We aim to support and empower survivors and their loved ones affected by sexual violence. We want to help end all forms of sexual violence with community awareness and education.

If you or someone you care about has been affected by sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, sexual abuse, or any other form of sexual violence, you have options. We can help. Support is available 24-hours a day by calling our toll-free hotline at 1-877-665-7273.

The Center provides the following FREE services and programs:

• Individual and Group Counseling
• Case management and referrals
• Arts & Wellness Program groups and workshops
• 24-hour Hotline and Advocacy at forensic exams, police stations, and court
• Prevention Education
• Volunteer Program
• Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition

Our Volunteer Advocate Program trains volunteers in our community to be Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates (CSVAs). CSVAs are trained to answer the 24-hour hotline and accompany survivors to forensic examinations, police stations, and court. CSVAs provide emotional support, information, and referrals to survivors and their loved ones.

The Center for Empowerment provides a free 40+ hour training for those age 18 and over who are interested in becoming a Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate. No experience is necessary, and bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply. Volunteers must live in or near Middlesex County and have their own reliable transportation and cell phone.
