Position Overview
The Deputy National Director of Partner Outreach & Engagement supports the National Partner Outreach & Engagement Director in developing strategy and building systems that connect national coalition capacity to district-level field operations. This role focuses on strategic planning, volunteer pipeline development, cross-district coordination, and training program coordination to strengthen Battleground Alliance’s coalition infrastructure.

We strengthen democratic institutions and civic participation through data-driven field operations, strategic communications, and coordinated partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Engagement Plan Development & Implementation
- Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for national partner engagement
- Map current and prospective national partners, their capacities, geographic footprints, and potential contributions to district-level work
- Define engagement pathways for different partner types (labor, advocacy, grassroots, issue-based) to connect to BA
- Identify opportunities to support the cultivation of national partners and the Strategic Council
- Present strategic plan and progress reports to BA staff and leadership for input and approval
- Plan occasional in-person national partner meetings and events
- Develop presentations, talking points, reports, and other documents
Contribute to Key BA Objectives and Programs
Field & District Support
- Partner with Field Director and Accountability & Mobilization Lead to connect district-level campaigns with national organizational resources and support
- Help translate national partnership commitments into tangible district-level support including volunteer mobilization, resource sharing, and technical assistance
- Identify opportunities for national partners to deploy assets strategically across BA’s target districts
Data & Technology Collaboration
- Collaborate with BA’s Data & Tech team on workflow design, system requirements, and implementation within BA’s existing data and technology infrastructure
- Develop user experience specifications, testing protocols, documentation, and adoption support for partner engagement and volunteer management systems
Internal Coordination & Reporting
- Maintain alignment with BA leadership through regular check-ins with the National Partner Outreach & Engagement Director
- Attend and assist in running Strategic Council meetings and relevant planning sessions
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in progressive organizing, coalition building, or campaign operations
- Strong project management skills with experience designing and implementing systems and workflows at scale
- Experience with volunteer management, recruitment pipelines, and grassroots mobilization
- Proficiency with data or project management platforms (Airtable or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multi-stakeholder environments and manage competing priorities
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Understanding of organizing and how national movement work connects to local campaigns
Compensation Dependent upon experience
- $90,000-$120,000 dependent on experience

- Remote ok, DC-preferred
- This is a cycle position that will run through the 2026 General Election
