New York Edge seeks nominations and applications for a transformative leader to serve as its next Chief Operating Officer. New York Edge is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the opportunity gap for students in underinvested communities. Through it’s strong commitment to its mission of providing opportunities for students to discover and achieve their dreams, New York Edge has established itself as a leading provider of educational programs, serving over 30,000 students across 130+ schools in all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Long Island.

New York Edge seeks a seasoned Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join a dynamic team and play a vital role in overseeing day-to-day operations while advancing the organization’s operational infrastructure during a period of scale, complexity, and strategic evolution. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will be a key member of the executive leadership team and a close partner to the CFO, driving strategic growth and ensuring that systems, people, and processes are aligned to support mission delivery, organizational growth, and a culture of excellence and innovation within an established and growing educational non-profit. With a strong background in education and a deep understanding of government-funded programs, the ideal candidate will be well-equipped to navigate the complexities of New York Edge's business model, which relies heavily on principal and superintendent relationships, as well as government contracts, including the NYCDOE, the organization's largest contract holder.

The next COO will be a visionary, collaborative leader with a unique blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and passion for education. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the complexities of working in partnership with City and State governments via contracting, a proven track record of driving growth and improvement in similarly complex organizations, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in education administration, business management, or a related field, with a minimum of 15 years of senior operational leadership experience in a similarly complex organization or industry.
