    Description

Anthology Editor Intern – Bay Area Creative (BAC)

Bay Area Creative (BAC) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Anthology Editor Intern to support the production of our annual student anthology — a powerful collection of youth poetry, visual art, and creative expression from across the Bay Area.

This internship is ideal for students or emerging editors and writers passionate about arts education, publishing, and amplifying youth voices.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and organize student poetry and artwork submissions
    • Collaborate with teaching artists and staff to curate and format content for the anthology
    • Assist with proofreading, layout, and preparing materials for print and digital publication
    • Help coordinate permissions and acknowledgments from contributors and schools
    • Ensure the anthology reflects the creative spirit and diversity of BAC’s programs and participants

    Qualifications:

    • Strong writing, editing, or proofreading skills, with attention to voice and tone
    • Interest in publishing, creative writing, visual arts, or arts education
    • Experience with or willingness to learn tools like Google Docs, Canva, or InDesign
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
    • Enthusiasm for BAC’s mission to support youth creativity and artistic storytelling

This is a part-time, remote, flexible internship with opportunities to build a portfolio and contribute meaningfully to a signature publication. A modest stipend or school credit may be available depending on the applicant’s academic program.
