As Executive Director, you'll spearhead this growth, amplify our impact across seven counties, and build on our 30+ year legacy of survivor-centered advocacy.

This role offers the chance to:

    • Shape strategic direction and drive meaningful community change
    • Lead a dedicated team in a collaborative, inclusive environment
    • Advocate for survivors while fostering partnerships that enhance services
    • Secure sustainable funding to fuel innovative programs

If you thrive in dynamic nonprofit settings, excel in strategic leadership, and are committed to trauma-informed care, this is your opportunity to make a lasting difference.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to craft and implement a forward-thinking vision aligned with our mission of empowering survivors.
    • Team Development: Mentor and inspire a diverse senior management team, cultivating a supportive culture that prioritizes collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance.
    • Community Engagement: Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders across our seven-county service area—focusing on Warren, Franklin, and St. Charles counties—as well as government agencies, coalitions, and partners to expand advocacy and service reach.
    • Fundraising & Resource Development: Lead grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising strategies to ensure long-term financial stability and program innovation.
    • Program Oversight: Maintain excellence in core services, including 24/7 hotline and shelter operations, crisis intervention, therapeutic support, and community-based programs. Participate in on-call rotations and shelter duties as needed to support round-the-clock coverage.
    • Public Advocacy: Act as our chief spokesperson, elevating survivor voices through media, public speaking, and awareness campaigns.
    • Financial Management: Oversee budgets, resources, and operations to promote fiscal responsibility and organizational sustainability.

    Qualifications

We're seeking a proven leader with:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, or related field preferred (relevant experience may substitute).
    • Experience: At least 3 years in nonprofit leadership, with a track record of team building, fundraising success, and strategic planning. Experience in domestic/sexual violence advocacy or trauma-informed services is highly valued.
    • Skills:
      • Outstanding communication, including public speaking and writing
      • Expertise in relationship-building and partnership development
      • Proficiency in grant management, fundraising, and budget oversight
      • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
    • Knowledge & Commitment: Familiarity with domestic and sexual violence issues; a deep passion for our mission and dedication to survivor empowerment. Proven ability to work collaboratively with boards and diverse teams.
