    Description

    About ISPS-US

    We are redefining psychosis.

We are reimagining mental health care.

    We are ISPS-US.

The International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis – United States Chapter (ISPS-US) is a national member organization dedicated to advancing humane, recovery-oriented, and rights-based understandings of psychosis and extreme states.

Founded in 1998 as part of the international ISPS network (est. 1956), ISPS-US brings together people with lived experience of psychosis, family members, clinicians, peer specialists, researchers, students, and advocates. We promote psychological, social, cultural, and relational approaches to psychosis that move beyond biomedical reductionism.

    ISPS-US delivers its mission through:

    • Membership and community building
    • Webinars, workshops, and continuing education
    • Member-led support and interest groups
    • An annual national conference
    • Advocacy on topics such as rights-based approaches to psychosis and comprehensive mental healthcare access
    • Collaboration with ISPS International and allied organizations

At the core of our work is the belief that lived experience knowledge is essential to meaningful change, and that progress happens when people with diverse perspectives work together.
