    JOB SUMMARY:

    Provides administrative support of the Echelon program and Echelon Leadership Council; serves as donor care specialist, processing receipt letters for SAWSO and USN donors in a timely fashion. Serves as backup support in the processing and answering mail/telephone calls requesting assistance, or having questions, concerns, and complaints.

    Coordinates and manages the preparation and distribution of appropriate receipting and acknowledgement of donations that come into NHQ for SAWSO and USN donors. Enters donor information accurately and in a timely manner into the Salesforce database.

    Supports the Echelon program and Echelon Leadership Council with responsibilities including:

    • Designs, writes, and sends email campaigns. Manages Mail Chimp account, handles address updates, performs general broadcast email account maintenance as needed.
    • Approves travel for Echelon Leadership Council in keeping with NCRD travel policy.
    • Collects quarterly data from each Echelon chapters, including outreach and follow up. Records updates on chapter contact lists, social media updates, etc.
    • Monitors Echelon email inbox, processing messages appropriately and in a timely manner.

    Serves as a back up in processing and answering mail/telephone calls received through the mail/NHQ receptionist that request emergency assistance, seasonal assistance, or raise concerns/complaints or questions regarding Salvation Army units or personnel, and forwards to appropriate Salvation Army management throughout the United States.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries in a courteous and tactful manner while providing information on NCRD services and operations as well as with other NHQ departments and Salvation Army units.

    Provides support to NCRD Leadership Team members or other NCRD projects as may be appropriate or specifically requested.

    Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by experience working or interning in an office environment, and experience performing a wide variety of progressively responsible administrative and technical support work characteristic/unique to the office/section’s purpose,

    or

    any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    None.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Ability to use Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel for the purpose of mail merges, and to learn and become proficient in other computer software applications utilized in this role.

    Ability to organize, proof own work (attention to detail is critical), prioritize, schedule and complete multiple projects with deadlines.

    Ability to integrate, analyze and interpret data from various sources.

    Knowledge of the principles and practices particular to the section’s administration.

    Knowledge of general office principles, practices and procedures.

    Ability to establish and maintain a variety of filing systems (paper and electronic) to ensure timely retrieval of information upon request.

    Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.

    Ability to write, think and communicate quickly, clearly and concisely.

    Ability to think creatively and contribute new ideas.

    Ability to build and maintain effective and professional relationships with sectional staff as well as NHQ staff and Salvation Army personnel throughout the territories and divisions.

    Ability to determine the most effective and efficient method to accomplish work objectives.
