    Description

    General Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plan, develop,and implement marketing and communications strategies
    • Confirm the AFA’s role and mission are clearly conveyed in marketing materials; and that all AFA and sponsor branding is deployed per contractual obligations
    • Maintain daily operations of the department, including:
    • Prepare Electronic Press Kits (EPKs) and closing forms from templates, including clearing image use, creating press image sheets, transmitting EPKs to venues, and ensuring venue details are complete; distribute closing forms and circulate final forms to AFA leadership and staff
    • Collaborate with and support external PR team with assets and necessary approvals
    • Liaise with partner institutions; distribute Electronic Press Kits (EPKs) and additional marketing materials to venue partners; approve venue marketing materials in collaboration with AFA staff; attend venue meetings and distribute venue events and programs to AFA leadership and staff; update record-keeping and project logs
    • Draft director’s letters for newsletters and talking points for events and programs, interviews, and opening remarks
    • Monitor and maintain departmental budget
    • Update and maintain AFA website and collaborate with UX designer as required
    • Manage internal and external communications and social media calendars; develop and oversee social media strategy, ensuring alignment with mission and objectives; plan social media calendar; create and approve posts, captions, and images; ensure materials for all partners are provided in a timely manner
    • Support the Development Department by designing templates for presentations, pitch decks, and mailing materials; liaise with the special events team to distribute venue invites to AFA trustees and high-level members; support Gala and other events in person; oversee videographer at Gala
    • Edit and upload audio content to Bloomberg Connects; upload images and written content to Bloomberg Connects in collaboration with curatorial team
    • Manage other related tasks as necessary.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years’experience in marketing/public relations/communications, preferably at an art museum, gallery, or art adjacent organization;
    • Design Tools experience(Adobe Creative Suite and Canva in particular); familiarity with project management tools (Monday); experience with WordPress
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite;
    • Superb written,interpersonal, and organizational skills;
    • Ability to take initiative and to think creatively

    Salary: $65,000 plus comprehensive benefits package including employer paid premiums for medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance and 15 paid vacation days and 10 paid holidays
