    🎯 Position Summary

    The Fundraising and Sponsorship Development Coordinator will lead efforts to grow and sustain donor engagement through compelling campaigns, strategic events, and digital fundraising initiatives. The Fundraising and Sponsorship Development Coordinator will play a key role in cultivating strategic partnerships and sponsorships for the state conference’s annual convention and related convenings. This includes identifying aligned corporate, nonprofit, and community partners whose values reflect the mission of equity and justice. This role is central to advancing the state conference’s mission of equity, justice, and advocacy by mobilizing resources and deepening relationships with supporters.

    🛠️ Key Responsibilities

      Fundraising Strategy & Donor Engagement

        • Develop and implement annual fundraising plans aligned with organizational goals
        • Manage donor database and track engagement metrics
        • Draft donor communications including appeals, thank-you letters, and impact reports
        • Support major gift cultivation and stewardship efforts

        Digital Fundraising & Campaigns

          • Design and execute digital fundraising campaigns across email, social media, and website
          • Collaborate with the executive committee to create values-driven messaging and visuals
          • Monitor campaign performance and optimize based on analytics
          • Explore peer-to-peer fundraising and crowdfunding opportunities

          Event Planning & Community Engagement

            • Plan and execute fundraising events (galas, advocacy summits, house parties, etc.)
            • Coordinate logistics, vendor relations, sponsorship outreach, and volunteer management
            • Develop toolkits and materials to support grassroots fundraising efforts
            • Ensure events reflect the organization’s values of inclusion, accessibility, and justice

            Grants & Institutional Giving

              • Assist with grant research, proposal writing, and reporting
              • Maintain calendar of deadlines and submission schedules
              • Track foundation relationships and support stewardship
              1. Convention Partnership Development
              • Develop a sponsorship strategy for the annual convention, including tiered packages and benefits
              • Research and cultivate relationships with potential sponsors, exhibitors, and partners
              • Draft compelling outreach materials that highlight impact, audience reach, and brand alignment
              • Coordinate sponsor deliverables (logos, ads, speaking opportunities, etc.) and ensure fulfillment
              • Collaborate with program and communications teams to integrate partners into event programming
              • Track partnership metrics and prepare post-convention impact reports for sponsors
              • Explore long-term partnership opportunities beyond the convention (e.g., year-round campaigns, co-branded initiatives)

            💡 Qualifications

              • 2–4 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or event planning
              • Strong writing and storytelling skills with a commitment to racial and social justice
              • Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., EveryAction, Salesforce, Bloomerang)
              • Experience with digital tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, Classy, GiveButter)
              • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
              • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
