About the Organization
Nuevo Sol SF is a member-led worker center dedicated to economic justice and building political power for domestic workers and day laborers. It is a new formation with a long history. Our Co-Executive Directors bring over 40 combined years of leadership from the San Francisco Day Labor Program and La Colectiva de Mujeres, having served on steering committees of the California Domestic Workers Coalition (CDWC), National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA), and National Day Labor Organizing Network (NDLON)—playing pivotal roles in shaping local, state, and national campaigns. Our base is primarily Latinx immigrant workers, with a focus on domestic workers and day laborers who are essential to the region's economy yet remain among the most vulnerable to wage theft, job instability, and a lack of protections. Through direct services, leadership development, organizing, and advocacy, we ensure that workers survive and thrive—demanding dignified wages, safe workplaces, and systemic change.
