    Position Title: Program Manager

    Reports to: People Made Visible Executive Director and Healthy West Chicago Advisory Board

    Employment Status: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week

    Start Date: January 5, 2026

    Overview

    Healthy West Chicago (HWC) seeks a motivated and mission-driven Program Manager to manage the organization’s development, oversee community programming, and support long-term sustainability goals. Under the guidance of the HWC Advisory Board and in collaboration with People Made Visible (HWC’s fiscal agent), this individual will advance the organization's efforts to promote a healthier and more connected West Chicago through partnerships, programs, and community engagement.

    Healthy West Chicago is a coalition of community leaders and organizations working collaboratively to promote health and wellness across the city. HWC is fiscally sponsored by People Made Visible, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in West Chicago. HWC provides accessible programs and resources focused on improving quality of life through a wide range of wellness initiatives, including nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and social connection.

    Position Summary

    The Program Manager plays a vital role in implementing HWC’s mission. This person will work with the Advisory Board to lead programming aligned with community-identified health priorities, build partnerships, engage diverse stakeholders, and ensure program operations run smoothly and transparently. The Manager will coordinate closely with the PMV Executive Director and the HWC Executive Committee to pursue fundraising opportunities and strengthen the organization’s infrastructure and sustainability.

    Key Responsibilities (90-95% of time)

    • Manage day-to-day operations and implementation of health and wellness programs.
    • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, local businesses, and residents.
    • Work with a team to monitor and analyze program data and outcomes and develop recommendations to improve program outcomes.
    • Support coalition building and community engagement around shared wellness goals.
    • Represent HWC at events and occasional evening/weekend activities.
    • Report monthly to the HWC Advisory Board and work in partnership with its Executive Committee to ensure alignment with strategic goals.

    Other Duties (5-10% of time)

    • Assist with communication efforts to promote HWC’s programs and mission.
    • Working with a team to seek out and apply for grants and fundraising opportunities from foundations, corporations, and individual donors

    Qualifications

    We are seeking a well-rounded nonprofit professional with a passion for community wellness and collaboration. Ideal candidates will bring a mix of organizational, management methods and tools, relationship-building, and communication skills working with groups and consensus building.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree or progress toward one preferred).
    • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit, community organizing, or program coordination roles.
    • Strong communication and public speaking skills.
    • Experience with fundraising, grant writing, or donor engagement.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Availability for occasional weekend and evening events.

    Preferred Skills

    • Demonstrated ability to lead or support community coalitions or partnerships.
    • Familiarity with program development in the areas of health, wellness, or community engagement.
    • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.

    Work Environment

    Flexible hybrid schedule combining remote work, in-person meetings, and outreach efforts. Workspace available at People Made Visible (103 W. Washington St., West Chicago).

    Compensation

    • Part-time (approx. 15-20 hours/week), exempt position
    • Annual salary: $25,000–$30,000 based on experience
    • Includes 40 hours of flexible paid vacation
    • No additional benefits
